Remote site supervision questions
What is remote site supervision?
Supervising structural works through live video, 360 capture and digital records instead of standing on site all day. BCA's guidebook applies it where full-time site supervision is required, and it does not replace immediate supervision.
Is remote site supervision mandatory?
No. BCA encourages Qualified Persons to adopt it. To change how site supervisors are deployed, the project submits an RSS plan with its safeguards for BCA to consider.
What are Site Supervision Firms?
From 2028, BCA will require BCA-licensed Site Supervision Firms on projects exceeding S$75 million. BCA calls remote supervision a key enabler, because it lets a firm apply central expertise across many sites.
Does Kodifly deliver it?
Yes. SpatialSense gives supervisors live video, dated 360 inspection records, body-worn cameras and digital sign-off, with the audit trail BCA asks for.
What records does BCA want?
Digital records and audit trails that verify supervision outcomes. SpatialSense dates, locates and keeps every inspection record and its approval trail.
Does it pay back?
BCA's pilots found that manpower savings from flexible supervisor deployment generally exceed the cost of the technology, and that clear hold points and targeted live video deliver most of the gain.
