Kodifly at the Smart QS Hackathon 2026 launch
Published

Kodifly attended the welcome ceremony of the Smart QS Hackathon 2026 on 29 July 2026 at Cyberport.
The launch
The Housing Bureau, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, Cyberport and the University of Hong Kong are co-organising the hackathon. The 29 July event was the welcome ceremony and briefing. A 48-hour hackathon follows in early November, with the final presentation and awards later that month.
The competition asks teams to try AI on quantity surveying problems. The assigned challenges cover contract advice and payment valuation. There is also an open challenge, split between professionals and students. The organisers have said promising ideas may be tested on public housing sites. The Secretary for Housing, Ms Winnie Ho, gave the opening remarks.
Kodifly’s part
Kodifly was in the audience for the briefing, which included an introduction to quantity surveying practice. The company went to hear how the industry wants to apply AI to measurement, valuation and the records those tasks rely on.
SpatialSense, described on the SpatialSense page, is Kodifly’s platform for a dated record of a site.
