SmartEye, the Co-supervision Platform developed by Hong Kong’s Development Bureau (DEVB), won the Gold Award in the AI Research and Development (Quality Inspection) category of the CIC AI Award 2026. The award was presented at the CIC Global AI and Smart Construction Conference and Exhibition (GASCCE 2026), held at Hong Kong Science Park on 24 and 25 June 2026.

The award belongs to DEVB. Kodifly is a supporting partner of SmartEye.

The first CIC AI Award

According to the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the award was established in its “Year of AI” to recognise how industry stakeholders, technology providers and academic institutions apply artificial intelligence in the built environment. It received 258 project submissions across 12 award categories. The CIC presented 18 AI Adoption awards and 32 AI Research and Development awards.

SmartEye appears in the Quality Inspection category of the AI Research and Development awards, where the CIC’s awardee list names it as the Gold Award winner.

What SmartEye is

Under DEVB Technical Circular (Works) No. 1/2026, the Co-supervision Platform is DEVB’s remote supervision system for capital works above HK$400 million that are tendered from 1 April 2026. The scope and rules are set out in Co-supervision Platform: scope and vetting.

Kodifly’s part

Kodifly supplies the fixed-point and fixed-route 4D LiDAR, cameras and edge units that SmartEye runs on, on about 20 Hong Kong public works contracts. The hardware is described on the Co-supervision Platform page. The platform itself is developed in-house by DEVB, and the award recognises DEVB’s work.
